Setting the Scene:
General Manager Nicholas Hockman shared a fascinating insight. Napa Rose aims to be a guest's first fine dining experience, balancing elegance and warmth. The renovation achieves this, creating a welcoming atmosphere with knowledgeable and friendly staff.
A Warm Welcome:
Upon arrival, you'll feel right at home. The restaurant's ambiance and hospitality make it an ideal introduction to fine dining. The redesigned space is a true testament to this, offering a memorable evening.
Cast Members' Dedication:
Remarkably, 100% of the Napa Rose Cast Members returned after a nine-month hiatus. This loyalty speaks volumes about their passion for the restaurant. Our server, Wendy, a 25-year veteran, showcased the team's warmth and expertise, expertly guiding us through the menu.
A Taste of Northern California:
The restaurant's design pays homage to Northern California's Arts and Crafts tradition. The main dining room features a stunning chandelier, wooden columns, and a mural celebrating Napa Valley's vineyards. Warm woods, cork, stone, and leather create a cozy atmosphere.
Chef's Counter:
For an exclusive experience, the Chef's Counter offers a front-row view of the exhibition kitchen. Accommodating up to 18 guests, it provides an intimate dining setting. The renovation expanded these counters, allowing guests to witness the culinary magic.
Bar and Lounge:
The newly renovated bar and lounge offer a cozy ambiance with a new fireplace. Guests can enjoy alfresco dining on the outdoor patio. The lounge menu features small plates, caviar, seafood, and charcuterie, paired with an impressive wine and cocktail selection.
Private Dining:
For special occasions, the private dining room, accommodating up to 16 guests, evokes a wine cellar's charm. This space is perfect for intimate celebrations.
Menu Highlights:
The refreshed menu showcases seasonal ingredients. We sampled a selection of dishes, including an amuse-bouche, three courses, an entrée, and dessert. The Signature Mushroom Cappuccino, a savory broth with a flavorful foam, was a delightful surprise.
Fine Dining Delights:
The Sauteéd Seasonal Fish with lobster toast and lemon bubble was a standout, offering a delicate balance of flavors. The American Wagyu N.Y., paired with grape mustardo, showcased harmonious tastes. The Sorpesine Pasta, with California Crab broth and Pacific Uni, was a creamy delight, expertly paired with Chardonnay.
Entrée Excellence:
The Sustainable Fish of the Day, a swordfish dish, impressed even a non-fish lover with its tender texture and savory puree. The Roasted Boneless Colorado Rack of Lamb, served with a dried fig-orange gremolata, was perfectly cooked and seasoned.
Dessert Indulgence:
The Valhrona Chocolate Bar with hazelnut praline was a fine dining twist on a candy bar, combining various elements seamlessly. It was a dessert to remember!
